Custom NLT East Potomac scorecard.
This letterpress scorecard is part of a limited edition run of 1,000 made by Stymie Scorecards. The scorecard shows modern yardages and pars on a reversible layout - paying homage to Walter Travis' original design. As it is today, the golf course property in East Potomac Park was extremely flat, which generally does not lend itself to dramatic golf. Turning that potential weakness on its head, Travis designed a reversible course replete with three to ten-foot elevation changes, contoured greens, and a complex, highly strategic bunkering scheme. The reversibility, scale of the contouring, wild greens, and numerous hazards make it impossible to imagine that Travis was not inspired by the famous Old Course at St. Andrews which shares many of the same traits. NLT plans to embrace the reversible nature of Travis’ design during our stewardship by allowing the direction of play on each nine of the Blue course to change on a regular basis.
All proceeds will go to helping NLT promote and protect affordability, accessibility and engaging golf course architecture at municipal courses throughout the United States of America.
